Cloud blinked open his eyes and looked out of his den into the clearing, hoping he would see it active. Standing to his feet, he padded over and then out into the clearing, only seeing one cat. Cloud knew who this cat was, her name was Lumiere. She was his second in command, she was given that position since she seemed loyal. Cloud went back into his den and began to groom his white fur, not wanting to be seen in public with messy fur. "If only fur stayed neat." He muttered between licks. Once Cloud was done he emerged from his den again and grabbed two mice from the fresh kill pile. Cloud walked over to Koori and set the prey down in front of her, one for him, one for her. "Hello Lumiere." Cloud mewed. "How are you settling in to WolfClan?" Lumiere

Lumiere's ears pricked at the prey, but she made no movement to touch it. The second in command was the silent type of feline, because she was a firm believer that the less she said, the more she would hear. The more she would hear, the more she would know. And knowledge was power. She twisted the front half of her body to face Cloud, as she had been previously turned away from him.
"Well." she murmured, before turning back away from him. True, she wasn't much for conversation, but made for good company, if you were up for mysteries. Nobody really knew much of who Lumiere was, or where she had been, just that she had chosen to settle into WolfClan after stumbling upon it. Tail flicking, Lumiere stared at the mouse. Maybe staring at it would work up an appetite.

Cloud watches Lumiere, noticing that she was pretty quiet. Cloud shrugged and took a seat in front of her, pawing her mouse in the direction of her mouth. "You need to eat, Lumiere." He mewed. "WolfClan cats need to keep up their strengths, we must always be prepared for anything, even war." Cloud looked around, making sure there was no one listening. "Speaking of war." He mewed even quieter. "I need the council and us to vote on something. I think we should make a detailed plan and invade HollyClan territory in one moons time."

"Vote? This is a dictatorship, not a democracy," Lumiere scoffed even though cats know nothing of politics. To emphasize her point, she threw the mouse back into the ever-growing freshkill pile and stalked away from Cloud. Harboring under the shade of an overhanging tree, the feline drew a paw over her ear, tail thrumming to the rhythm of birds' song. If they were going to invade HollyClan, they may as well just do it. Who cared what the clan thought? Cloud was the leader and the leader had the final say, she thought. So much for that. Her ears twitched, looking for any sign that the leader may have followed her over, for she dared not look back- she would have the final word, or that he may be cross with her.

Cloud narrowed his eyes and gave Lumiere a glare as she walked away. How dare she talk to her leader that way? Standing to his feet he walked across the clearing to her. "I can't do things without a vote." He hissed. "Considering I would need disapproval to do this from at least one of them and you, I'm sure it will be fine. After all, both of us get a vote and the two members of the council get half a vote. If I were to just go ahead and demolish the council, there would be rebellion. I need to keep order around here you know, I can't have bloody rioting."

Lumiere brushed away his animosity with a shrug of her shoulders. Cloud's hostility- or, any hostility- never really got much of a reaction out of her. Perhaps it was what kept her cool and silent during a battle.
"There is no freedom without a cage," she flicked her tail, glancing carelessly over her shoulder at him. "And likewise, without chaos there would be no concept such as order. This order you speak of-it will not last if you cannot earn the respect of those underneath your reign."
This was perhaps the most Lumiere had ever spoken in a breath, and she proceeded to groom her paw, yellow eyes flickering with contempt. Easily angered. Interesting.

Cloud narrowed his eyes once more and sat down. "Earn the respect of everyone? I already have that. However, I do not have the power to do whatever I wish. We aren't a regular clan, where the leader usually gets the say but the clan can overthrow them, we are a type of democracy. However, in this democracy you could say I have almost all the power. I get to choose who is on my council, so I can easily control it by selecting the right people and I believe I have."

"If you think you have the respect of every cat then you are a fool, Cloud." Lumiere's voice grew in strength, and she leaped up into the tree that she had been resting by. She sank her claws into the bark of the tree, ripping them out of the branches and sinking them back in again. Her whiskers twitched. Life had begun to become very monotonous again. Wasn't that why she moved to this clan in the first place?- to do something exciting once more?
"In fact, I've begun to think you are a fool anyways," she turned her head, eyes glittering with disdain. "Prove me wrong, if you think you can."
